The Project

The design, supply, installation and commissioning of the full LAN infrastructure (Passive and Active) in support of the Public Realm services at Stratford Waterfront including CCTV, Digital Wayfinding, BMS and Hostile Vehicle Management systems. This scheme was part of LLDC ( London Legacy Development Corp ) plan to regenerate legacy from the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Our Role

Design and coordinate with multiple third party suppliers to deliver a comprehensive network in the public domain at this prestigious development which sites the V&A, Sadlers Wells Theatre, London College of Fashion and the BBC media centre. The public realm was the final construction development on the site which necessitated strong design and coordination work to plan the implementation of the external Fibre and Copper connectivity on a challenging and sprawling estate.

The Challenges

  • Ongoing Design changes were a challenge through the project programme, we had to adapt to fit the client expectations and ensure standards were adhered to at all times.
  • Close co-ordination with multiple contactors on site, to ensure all parties were enabled onto the Active Network in a timely manner with the necessary access and security provisioned.
  • Lengthy and diverse routing through multiple demises were traversed to ensure a safe, high performance LAN.
  • Working within public areas, ensure all works were undertaken at the right time, following all healthy and safety restrictions.

The Outcome

A successful and seamless end to end LAN infrastructure was delivered to support the enjoyment and usage of the public realm space at Stratford Waterfront. All IP solutions providing public service and safety in the domain were fully functional and performing as expected via the Network Elecomm delivered.
