The Client
IKEA need little introduction. This Swedish-founded multinational group has been the world’s largest furniture retailer since at least 2008, and as of June 2019, there were no less than 423 IKEA stores operating in 52 countries.
At Elecomm, we’re proud of our long-standing relationship with IKEA, and we’ve played a key part of their store rollout across the UK. We work closely with IKEA on all IT-related projects and offer design input as required (although we leave the furniture design to them!)
The Project
For every new, large format IKEA store, we provide the following as a minimum:
- 80,000m of Cat6 cable
- 2000m of OM3 fibre
- 2000m of voice cable
We supply and install all the data cabinets along with rack mount UPS and power distribution units. We also install LAN hardware, access points, DECT phone systems and assist other IKEA partners with their networking requirements.
Our dedicated team produce full ‘as fitted’ CAD drawings upon completion of new stores and keep them updated on behalf of the client when the inevitable moves and changes happen after a store has opened.
