The Project
Costa Coffee embarked on a rollout of digital media across their entire estate, circa 1,200 Stores from Drive Thru’s to High Street, Rail and Concession stores. This was a major move from printed menu boards to state of the art digital boards, a true digital transformation. Displaying fresh and exciting content which could be managed to deliver menu changes across the day and advertise promotions to maximise customer engagement in stores and, in turn, revenue at the tills.

The Challenges
The roll out was a fluid affair with many direction changes and challenges along the way. With store changes, date changes and the sheer breadth of UK coverage required to hit the schedule, project management and resourcing resilience was firmly tested. The rollout was delivered with a 100% success rate against requested store installations.
The Outcome
Displaying fresh and exciting content which can be managed to deliver menu changes across the day and advertise promotions to maximise customer engagement in stores and, in turn, revenue at the tills. Costa have been able to reduce printed landfill by 14 tonnes per week by moving to digital, offering clear environmental benefits.
