The Client
180 The Strand is an iconic Brutalist building in the heart of London, currently undergoing a transformation into a creative hub for people and progress.
The Project
The site is split into 5 separate but connected blocks, with each block ranging from 5 to 10 storeys on the North, East and West sides, with a further development on the South side facing the Thames, which is a 240 room hotel and private residence development.
The brief for Elecomm was to take on the complete M&E package from ground to roof, including all HVAC, Electrical HV and LV, Pipework, Ducting and mechanical fit out. The building was also in a state of partial tenancy throughout the project and all works had to be carried out with minimal disruption to services. Elecomm were to design, install and commission all facets of the fit-out with an onsite team available throughout the project lifecycle.
The Outcome
180 The Strand has now been completely re-modelled, with a mix of commercial tenanted offices, a gymnasium and swimming pool area on the roof (SoHo House), cafeteria areas, mixed use temporary office space, galleries and state-of-the-art immersive sound areas.
The project has now moved on to data services for Elecomm with a design, install, test, commission and maintenance project taking in audio visual, data cabling, Wi-Fi and active infrastructure.
